Alexander College is a private educational institute that provides both academic and vocational training in areas of highest need. Alexander College offers academic and foundation programs.Alexander College helps young people benefit from participating in the higher education community. The college provides first two years of university study leading to an Associate degree and university transfer in a student-centered and supportive environment.Alexander College is a participant in the BC Transfer System, a credit transfer system managed by the BC Council on Admissions and Transfer (BCCAT).

Goals

Location & Facilities

Vancover Campus
Alexander College's Vancouver campus is located on the corner of Hastings and Seymour street, just one block away from Waterfront Station, the main terminal transit station for SkyTrain lines (Canada Line, and Expo Line), Seabus, Westcoast Express, and city buses.
Our Vancouver campus is brand new and features modern classrooms with state of the art audio-visual equipment. Other important features include a student lounge, lunchroom and cafeteria; computer labs, testing and tutoring centres; a bookstore and library; a science facility; a counseling and academic advising centre, and free wireless internet throughout.

Burnaby Campus
Alexander College's Burnaby campus is located in Station Square beside the famous Metrotown Mall. This location is perfect for students wishing to study in Burnaby's thriving community.
This campus is also newly renovated and features spacious classrooms with projections screens, free wireless internet, lunch room, student lounges, testing centre, computer lab, tutoring centre, library, science facility, bookstore, marketing department, academic advising centre, and much more.

Facilities
Alexander college anticipate a continuing expansion of the College's physical capacity to accommodate the forecasted annual student enrollment.
This includes increasing equipment and facilities, student support services and administrative personnel to meet the increased student volume.

Computer Centre
Alexander College provide students with the most up-to-date and modern facilities, equipment and software. We feature: One Pentium (or similar) computer per student with connections to the instructor. Fast and reliable DSL Internet Connections.

Laboratories
The college's up-to-date Laboratories are equipped for work at the university level.

Bookstore
The bookstore carries required textbooks and other materials for courses offered at the college as well as a competitively priced selection of school supplies.The Bookstore accepts Bank Card, MasterCard, Visa, and personal cheques for the amount of purchase.

University Transfer Programs
Students are expected to attend Alexander College and follow the standard college/university model, taking a series of courses over a two-year period in a variety of academic areas. Students who intend to continue their academic career at another college or university are advised to prepare an academic plan to ensure that courses taken at Alexander are accepted for credit at the next institution.

Associate of Arts Degree
The Associate of Arts degree is a two-year degree which is approved to be offered in BC by the Minister of Advanced Education.One of many benefits to the Associate of Arts degree program is that students will be eligible to apply for an Off- Campus Work Permit (OCWP) after 6 months of full time academic study, provided they are maintaining a satisfactory GPA. Graduates of the Associate of Arts degree program may choose to transfer to a university to complete a Bachelor's degree. The Associate of Arts degree will allow the students to enter directly to 3rd year Faculty of Arts at the university of their choice in BC or elsewhere.

Pre-MBA program
The Alexander College Pre-MBA program is offered in partnership with Thompson Rivers University (TRU).This program allows students with a non-business undergraduate degree graduate with an MBA in two years.

English for academic purposes
The English for Academic Purposes (EAP) consists of seven courses.Each of these courses is intensive, requiring more than the normal number of classroom hours; integrated to involve academic reading, writing, speaking, listening, vocabulary, and idioms. Each of these courses is completed in one semester.If the student is successful, these academic courses are counted for credit toward the student's Associate of Arts Degree program.

Associate of Arts Degree
The Associate of Arts (Business) degree program consists of 67 credits, which are typically completed over a 2 year period.
The Associate of Science degree program consists of 60 credits, which are typically completed over a 2 year period.
Pre-MBA programs
Alexander College offers a one academic year Pre-MBA program (12 courses consisting of 100 and 200 level University courses), designed to help students meet the requirements for admission to the one-year MBA program at TRU.
